After completing my B.S. (Computer Science and French) at UNC-Chapel Hill (with Highest Honors), I am now at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where I'm finishing an M.S. (AI specialty) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (expected May 2009), and working on a Ph.D. at the School of Information. My interest is in using computer science to make real improvements in people's lives, especially those who are elderly and/or have disabilities. See my research and accessibility pages for details.

In past lives, I've worked as a political aide, gold miner, waiter, carpenter, singer, and technical salesperson/manager for large corporate and government accounts. In spite of all the technology around me, I still haven't forgotten that I'm a human being, not an android, and I very much enjoy that. See my pages on food, art, music, and links for more about that.
